Artist Bio:

Hello, my name is Abbey Sacks! I am a filmmaker, photographer, and artist who is passionate about storytelling and creativity. I have traveled all over the world and have lived in places such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Michigan, Texas, Singapore, and the Pacific Northwest.

In the past, my films have been screened at over sixty film festivals worldwide. My projects include music videos, dance films, documentary and narrative short films, creative portrait photoshoots, commercial work, and more.

While living in Los Angeles for two years, I created commercial work for companies such as Calvin Klein, Adidas, and Dazed and Confused Magazine, to name a few. In addition to that, I did an internship for the Hollywood Reporter at Sundance Film Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was also an assistant video editor for Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” promo videos.

While working with world-renowned installation artist Alexa Meade, I edited a viral video for her that got over 200 million views across Facebook. I also traveled with Alexa to Munich, Germany as the videographer and editor for one of her exhibitions. Footage that I shot and edited for Alexa was displayed on the side of a skyscraper in Downtown Los Angeles (JW Marriot L.A. Live).

My queer short film shot in Los Angeles, “Whiskey Skate Burger Swim” was included by NoBudge on their streaming app, which is available on Apple TV, Roku, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV. I have also shot and/or edited video content of celebrities such as Ariana Grande, Janelle Monaé, Halle Berry, Victoria Justice, Lola Kirke, Connor Franta, Kathryn Newton, and Demi Lovato, to name a few.

My work has been displayed in many different settings, including gallery spaces and museums. This includes the “21 Minus” exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the “Seattle Art Museum Remix”. In 2019, my documentary about the Seattle drag queen scene, “Queens”, was screened at the Berlin Pride Parade Festival. I was also the assistant director for a film that screened at the White House Student Film Festival with Barack Obama in attendance. That film was directed by Kira Bursky, AKA “All Around Artsy Productions”. In 2021 and 2022, I was the lead videographer and editor at New York Fashion Week.

I am passionate about learning and exploring many different art forms, and creating with others who share my passions. Please reach out to collaborate - I would love to hear from you!
